Deep Cleaning of all types of soft furniture in Wakefield area

Upholstery Cleaning Service for Your Home

Wakefield is only a short trip down the M1 from our base in south Leeds, which makes it one of the easiest places for us to reach. That usually means shorter waits for a booking, and a better chance of a same-week visit when something has been spilled.

A lot of the furniture we clean in Wakefield is in busy family homes: large fabric corner sofas, recliners and dining chairs that see daily use. Every piece gets the same approach – fabric check, colour test, stain pre-treatment and a thorough deep clean – so you know exactly what result to expect before we start.

Sofa and Armchair Cleaning Across Wakefield

We clean upholstery across Wakefield and the nearby towns and villages, including Ossett, Horbury, Normanton, Outwood, Stanley, Sandal, Crofton, Wrenthorpe and Lofthouse.

Wakefield is close to our Leeds base, so it is one of the areas we visit most often. Many customers here book a sofa clean together with carpets or a mattress, which saves a second visit. We check the fabric label and type before we start, so each piece is cleaned with the right method.

Deep Fabric Cleaning Process safe to your Sofa

Using high-quality equipment and professional-grade cleaning solutions from top British suppliers, we’re able to deep clean even the most heavily soiled upholstery. Our process combines steam, carefully selected detergents, manual agitation, and powerful rinsing to ensure dirt is thoroughly removed from your sofa – not just spread around. Our cleaning method can be adjusted based on the type of fabric and the level of soiling, delivering safe and effective results every time..

The entire sofa-cleaning process comes down to loosening the embedded dirt and extracting it from the fabric, along with all the cleaning agents and any excess rinse water. When carried out correctly, the process should leave your upholstery only slightly moist, allowing it to dry within as little as 2 hours..

Every year, each of our technicians completes several courses in advanced stain removal and fine fabric cleaning, continually developing their skills as part of our CPD programme. This ensures our knowledge of the latest stain-removal techniques is always fully up to date. The industry evolves quickly — what seemed impossible last year is becoming standard practice today. With us, you can be confident that you’re receiving the highest level of professional sofa cleaning service available near you.

Dogs and cats are part of the family in many Wakefield homes, and the sofa is usually their favourite spot. Over time that means hair worked deep into the fabric, muddy paw marks, and sometimes accidents that leave a smell you notice as soon as you walk in.

For pet problems we adjust the standard clean. We find the affected areas, treat them with a specialist urine-neutralising product and extract it, so the odour is removed at the source instead of being masked. Where urine has gone through, we treat the cushion inserts as well as the fabric cover. Hair is removed before cleaning, so the sofa feels fresh afterwards, not just looks it.

At the end of every upholstery cleaning, we ensure that all the fibres of the sofa are aligned in the correct direction to eliminate any signs of cleaning. This is especially important for velvet sofas, where cleaning marks can be permanent and cannot be removed except by re-wetting the sofa.

The final step is always deodorisation, using one of the many fragrances available through our upholstery cleaners. The scent will stay for a long time  and with such a wide range of options, everyone is sure to find something they love.

Drying and same-day use

Most fabric sofas we clean in Wakefield are dry within about two hours, so you can usually sit on them the same evening. Newer homes tend to dry quickly; colder rooms or very heavily soiled fabric can take longer, and then we use our dehumidifiers and air movers to speed things up.

Protection for family sofas

On a sofa that sees children, pets and food every day, a fabric protector is one of the most useful add-ons. Applied after cleaning, it forms an invisible barrier that stops spills soaking straight in and helps the colour last longer.

Sofa cleaning prices in Wakefield

We price upholstery per seat, with a minimum charge of £80 per visit. There is no deposit, and you pay only once the job is done, by cash or bank transfer. Many Wakefield customers book the sofa together with carpets or a mattress, which makes better use of the visit and saves booking twice.

Send us a photo of the sofa and fabric label by WhatsApp or chat, and you will usually have a firm price within minutes.

Upholstery Cleaning Service: The 3 Main Types of Fabric We Clean

In our daily practice, we clean approximately 200 different sofa models from brands such as DFS, Sofology, Sofa.com, ScS, Loaf, Barker & Stonehouse, Oak Furnitureland, Darlings of Chelsea, Tetrad, Castlery, Dimehouse, EZ Living Furniture, G Plan, Parker Knoll, Duresta, The Lounge Co., La Redoute, Laura Ashley, Aspire Furniture, HSL, Vale Bridgecraft, Archer’s Sofas, Sofas & Stuff, John Lewis & Partners, Habitat, Made.com, Next Home, Dunelm, The White Company, and Furniture Village. They all fall into the 3 types of upholstery cleaning services that we offer.

Family fabric sofas and recliners

Modern synthetic fabrics make up most of the furniture we clean in Wakefield. They clean very well with hot water extraction, using solutions that are safe for children and pets. We tackle food and drink spills, felt-tip and make-up, greasy headrests and the general grime of a sofa that is used every day. Recliner mechanisms are worked around carefully, so nothing is over-wetted.

Delicate fabrics

Velvet, linen, cotton and viscose blends need a gentler approach, because the wrong method can leave water marks, browning or faded patches. We test each fabric and adjust moisture and products to suit it, and finish velvet by brushing the pile in one direction so it dries evenly.

Leather sofas

Leather is cleaned with dedicated products, then conditioned and protected so it stays soft and does not crack, especially on sofas that get daily use.

Deep Sofa Cleaning in Wakefield

A deep clean lifts out the dirt, body oils and allergens that vacuuming leaves behind, and brings tired fabric back to life.

We are often asked to clean sofas in Wakefield before a new baby arrives, after a house move, when a home is being sold or let, and when tenants need furniture cleaned before handing back the keys. Landlords with flats in the city centre or around Sandal and Outwood use us between tenancies too. Whatever the reason, we use hot water extraction and clean the fabric all the way through, not only on the surface.

Cleaning once or twice a year keeps a sofa looking better for longer, because the abrasive grit that wears fabric thin is washed out.

Upholstery & Sofa Cleaning in Wakefield: Examples of Our Work

Wakefield is one of our closest areas, roughly 25 minutes from our Leeds base, and we work seven days a week from 9am to 8pm. We clean for homeowners, landlords and businesses in the city and the villages around it. We check the fabric and test a hidden area before cleaning, so velvet, linen, chenille, bouclé and leather each get the right treatment.

We also cover the villages around Wakefield, including Newton Hill, Kirkthorpe, Lofthouse, Calder Grove, Agbrigg, Normanton, Altofts, Stanley, Outwood, Wrenthorpe, Walton, Crofton, Horbury, Ossett and Alverthorpe.

Frequently Asked Questions

To make your decision easier, we have compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked questions here.
How much does it cost?
We are unable to provide a reliable estimate for the service without additional information. Our minimum charge is £80. To receive a quote, please contact us by, use the chat, or send a message using the form below. We can usually provide a quote without an initial visit to the client, which helps keep the service more affordable.
Will you remove all the stains from the sofa
This is always our main goal, and it usually works out that way. However, sometimes stains are permanent due to damage to the fibres, often natural ones like viscose, cotton or linen. There are methods that work even on these kind of fibres, but we must remember that in some cases, the stain is irremovable. To determine this, a test must be performed. Without a test, we cannot confirm this with 100% certainty.
Will my sofa be very wet?
Our method involves cleaning with liquids. It is the most efficient upholstery cleaning method, but it does leave the sofa moist. Sometimes, when the dirt is more severe, we need to rinse fabric 2-3 times, which also extends the drying time. In summer, sofa can realistically dry less than 2 hours. In winter, it may take up to 5 hours. In our opinion, this is a small inconvenience considering that other methods, such as dry cleaning, are not even 20% as effective. Spreading dirt around the fabric sofa is not cleaning. It is only done when there is no other option, and our method is simply not allowed etc.
What should I prepare before your arrival?
First and foremost, we need access to water and electricity. If there is no power or water, we will not be able to perform the service. Vacuuming is not required, as we always do this as part of our service. This allows us to conduct a proper inspection and identify areas that need special attention. We usually recommend that clients remove small items, plants, and smaller pieces of furniture if possible, to make space in the nearby surrunding.
Do you dry sofas after cleaning?
As part of our standard cleaning service, we do not dry sofas after cleaning. This is a premium option. It takes additional time, thereby increasing the cost of the service. Almost always, sofas are able to dry naturally without any issues. Often, cleaners claim they dry sofas but only set up fans for a few minutes, which is more of a marketing tactic than actual drying. We use equipment for water damage restoration—powerful dryers and dehumidifiers. The dryers help with air circulation, while the dehumidifiers remove excess moisture, allowing us to control the microclimate of your room and ensure the optimal conditions for the fastest furniture drying. This service is priced individually.
