Deep Cleaning of all types of soft furniture in Harrogate area

Upholstery Cleaning Service for Your Home

We travel up to Harrogate from our Leeds base and clean upholstery in homes, holiday lets and guest houses across the town and the surrounding villages. Booking a few days ahead works best; if you have a deadline such as guests arriving, let us know and we will try to fit you in.

Harrogate homes often have furniture worth looking after properly – designer sofas, antique chairs and natural fabrics. That is why every job starts with a careful inspection: we read the care label, test colour-fastness and agree with you what can realistically be achieved before any cleaning begins.

Sofa Cleaning in Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon

We regularly visit Harrogate and the surrounding area, including Knaresborough, Starbeck, Bilton, Jennyfields, Pannal, Killinghall, Ripon and Boroughbridge.

Many Harrogate homes have quality and designer furniture, including natural fabrics and leather. We test every fabric before cleaning, protect wooden legs and carpets during the job, and can apply fabric protection afterwards so new spills are easier to deal with.

Deep Fabric Cleaning Process safe to your Sofa

Using high-quality equipment and professional-grade cleaning solutions from top British suppliers, we’re able to deep clean even the most heavily soiled upholstery. Our process combines steam, carefully selected detergents, manual agitation, and powerful rinsing to ensure dirt is thoroughly removed from your sofa – not just spread around. Our cleaning method can be adjusted based on the type of fabric and the level of soiling, delivering safe and effective results every time..

The entire sofa-cleaning process comes down to loosening the embedded dirt and extracting it from the fabric, along with all the cleaning agents and any excess rinse water. When carried out correctly, the process should leave your upholstery only slightly moist, allowing it to dry within as little as 2 hours..

Every year, each of our technicians completes several courses in advanced stain removal and fine fabric cleaning, continually developing their skills as part of our CPD programme. This ensures our knowledge of the latest stain-removal techniques is always fully up to date. The industry evolves quickly — what seemed impossible last year is becoming standard practice today. With us, you can be confident that you’re receiving the highest level of professional sofa cleaning service available near you.

Pet stains and odours on a good-quality sofa need more care than on an everyday suite. Strong products or too much water can mark delicate fabric, so the treatment has to be matched to the material.

We locate the affected areas, treat them with a specialist urine-neutralising product and extract it, removing the source of the odour rather than perfuming over it. Where urine has penetrated, we treat the cushion inserts as well as the cover. On natural or delicate fabrics we test first and keep moisture under control. If you are unsure, send Marek a photo – he will give you an honest view before you book.

At the end of every upholstery cleaning, we ensure that all the fibres of the sofa are aligned in the correct direction to eliminate any signs of cleaning. This is especially important for velvet sofas, where cleaning marks can be permanent and cannot be removed except by re-wetting the sofa.

The final step is always deodorisation, using one of the many fragrances available through our upholstery cleaners. The scent will stay for a long time  and with such a wide range of options, everyone is sure to find something they love.

Drying and care afterwards

Most sofas are dry within about two hours. Large Victorian and Edwardian rooms in Harrogate can be cooler and take longer, especially in winter; where needed, we use our dehumidifiers and air movers so the fabric dries quickly and evenly. We protect wooden feet and the carpet underneath while everything dries.

Fabric protector

For quality furniture and lighter colours, a fabric protector applied after cleaning is a sensible investment. It helps stop spills soaking in and reduces fading from sunlight through large bay windows.

Upholstery cleaning prices in Harrogate

Sofas and chairs are priced per seat, with a minimum charge of £80 per visit. There is no deposit, and payment by cash or bank transfer is only taken when the work is finished. Guest houses and holiday-let owners can have several pieces done in one visit to keep costs down.

For an accurate quote, send a photo of the furniture and its care label by WhatsApp or live chat – you will normally get a price within minutes.

Upholstery Cleaning Service: The 3 Main Types of Fabric We Clean

In our daily practice, we clean approximately 200 different sofa models from brands such as DFS, Sofology, Sofa.com, ScS, Loaf, Barker & Stonehouse, Oak Furnitureland, Darlings of Chelsea, Tetrad, Castlery, Dimehouse, EZ Living Furniture, G Plan, Parker Knoll, Duresta, The Lounge Co., La Redoute, Laura Ashley, Aspire Furniture, HSL, Vale Bridgecraft, Archer’s Sofas, Sofas & Stuff, John Lewis & Partners, Habitat, Made.com, Next Home, Dunelm, The White Company, and Furniture Village. They all fall into the 3 types of upholstery cleaning services that we offer.

Modern fabric sofas

Everyday synthetic fabrics are cleaned with hot water extraction, using products that are safe for children and pets. It removes food and drink spills, make-up and the greasy build-up on arms and headrests, and leaves the sofa fresh rather than just perfumed.

Designer, antique and natural-fibre upholstery

Silk, wool, linen, cotton, velvet and viscose are common in Harrogate homes, and each reacts differently to water and cleaning products. The wrong method can cause shrinkage, browning, water marks or colour bleed that cannot be reversed. We test every fabric and choose the method and moisture level to match, use low-moisture cleaning where it is safer, and groom velvet so it dries even.

Leather

Leather sofas and chairs are cleaned with dedicated products, then conditioned and protected to keep them supple and stop cracking – important for furniture you want to keep for many years.

Deep Upholstery Cleaning in Harrogate

A deep clean removes the oils, dust and allergens that settle into fabric over time, without the risks of DIY machines.

In Harrogate we clean for homeowners refreshing a favourite sofa, for families preparing a house for sale, and for guest houses and holiday lets that need furniture looking its best between bookings. Each piece is cleaned with the method that suits its fabric – hot water extraction for most modern upholstery, and gentler low-moisture cleaning for delicate materials.

Regular professional cleaning keeps good furniture looking right for longer, because the gritty soil that wears fabric is removed instead of being ground in.

Upholstery & Sofa Cleaning in Harrogate: Examples of Our Work

Harrogate and Knaresborough are around 40 minutes north of our Leeds base, and we work seven days a week from 9am to 8pm. Many homes here have wool carpets, quality rugs and natural fabrics, and we treat each one with the care it needs. We check the fabric and test a hidden area before cleaning, so velvet, linen, chenille, bouclé and leather each get the right treatment.

We also cover the villages around Harrogate, including Killinghall, Knaresborough, Hampsthwaite, Beckwithshaw, Burn Bridge, Follifoot, Spofforth, Ripon, Pannal, Starbeck and Boroughbridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

To make your decision easier, we have compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked questions here.
How much does it cost?
We are unable to provide a reliable estimate for the service without additional information. Our minimum charge is £80. To receive a quote, please contact us by, use the chat, or send a message using the form below. We can usually provide a quote without an initial visit to the client, which helps keep the service more affordable.
Will you remove all the stains from the sofa
This is always our main goal, and it usually works out that way. However, sometimes stains are permanent due to damage to the fibres, often natural ones like viscose, cotton or linen. There are methods that work even on these kind of fibres, but we must remember that in some cases, the stain is irremovable. To determine this, a test must be performed. Without a test, we cannot confirm this with 100% certainty.
Will my sofa be very wet?
Our method involves cleaning with liquids. It is the most efficient upholstery cleaning method, but it does leave the sofa moist. Sometimes, when the dirt is more severe, we need to rinse fabric 2-3 times, which also extends the drying time. In summer, sofa can realistically dry less than 2 hours. In winter, it may take up to 5 hours. In our opinion, this is a small inconvenience considering that other methods, such as dry cleaning, are not even 20% as effective. Spreading dirt around the fabric sofa is not cleaning. It is only done when there is no other option, and our method is simply not allowed etc.
What should I prepare before your arrival?
First and foremost, we need access to water and electricity. If there is no power or water, we will not be able to perform the service. Vacuuming is not required, as we always do this as part of our service. This allows us to conduct a proper inspection and identify areas that need special attention. We usually recommend that clients remove small items, plants, and smaller pieces of furniture if possible, to make space in the nearby surrunding.
Do you dry sofas after cleaning?
As part of our standard cleaning service, we do not dry sofas after cleaning. This is a premium option. It takes additional time, thereby increasing the cost of the service. Almost always, sofas are able to dry naturally without any issues. Often, cleaners claim they dry sofas but only set up fans for a few minutes, which is more of a marketing tactic than actual drying. We use equipment for water damage restoration—powerful dryers and dehumidifiers. The dryers help with air circulation, while the dehumidifiers remove excess moisture, allowing us to control the microclimate of your room and ensure the optimal conditions for the fastest furniture drying. This service is priced individually.
